2008 Championship Game Trivia: Did you know that the first 6 Hoover batters in the last inning of the Final Championship game all had 2 strikes - 4 of those batters got base hits - 1 batter walked - 1 batter had an RBI Sacrifice fly, and 5 of the first 6 batters scored.

The Bucs Sweep Opelika on Saturday to take the 2008
6A State Championship in Montgomery!

In a stunning victory - the Bucs scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to comeback and defeat Opelika 7 to 6.

Sam Frost selected as 6A State Championship series MVP

The 2008 Hoover High Baseball team becomes the first Hoover Baseball State Champions since Berry High in 1981.

Game 1: Fri  - Bucs    4L  - 5 (extra innings)

Bucs celebrate advancement to 6A Championship!

Once again Hoover played as a team with everyone contributing.
The semi-finals ended dramatically on a walk-off blast by Glasgow.

Game 1 - Bucs win 10-2
Tyler Ray strikes out 15 Hillcrest Patriots.

Game 2 - In a hard fought contest, Hillcrest battled back to score in the 8th inning and defeat Hoover 6-5.

Game 3 - Hoover Bucs Advance to State Semi-Finals!
Defeat Hillcrest in Sudden Death Match - Bucs 13 - Hillcrest 3

Bucs Sweep Bob Jones in 2nd Round of State Playoffs!

Tyler Ray throws compete game in game one with a 11-1 victory and Robbie Lilly follows up with another complete game with a 9-2 win.

The entire Bucs team contributed to both victories over Bob Jones and overwhelmed the "favored" Bob Jones team.

Hoover Bucs Sweep Homewood in 1st Round of State Playoffs!

T-Ray goes the distance with a masterful 2-hit shutout - supported offensively by a host of Bucs including HRs by S. Frost & H. Collins for a 10-0 victory over Homewood in game 1.

Crafty Bucs pitcher Robbie Lilly deals a 4 hitter through 6 innings for a 2-1 victory over Homewood in game 2 of a closely fought pitching duel. Glasgow closed the game with some nasty stuff to preserve the win.
